TORONTO – Police say a newborn baby delivered by emergency C-section after her mother was struck by a car that smashed through the doors of a Costco store in London, Ont. has died.

Rhiannon Bozek, just seven-days-old, had been listed in critical condition since being delivered immediately following the crash that also claimed the life of her sister, six-year-old Addison Hall.

The newborn’s mother and her two sisters were shopping at the Costco store in London (on Wellington Road South) around noon on July 25, when a reversing car came crashing through the front doors of the building.

The mother, Danah McKinnon-Bozek, who was eight-months pregnant at the time, three-year-old Miah Bozek, and Addison were hospitalized following the crash. Addison later died of her injuries.

The family decided to have Addison’s organs donated, so she was kept on life support until the operations could be completed. Four people have received her organs.

As of Saturday morning, McKinnon-Bozek and Miah remained in hospital, where McKinnon-Bozek was listed in good condition, while Miah was in fair condition.

Three other people, including the female driver of the vehicle, were also hospitalized but have since been released.
